L6011 LYCORINE HYDROCHLORIDE

a selective inhibitor of Peptidyl Transferase Center (PTC): inhibits protein synthesis; emetic; enhances bronchial gland secretion and possesses relaxing effect on bronchial muscles; probably dopaminergic receptor agonist.

Phenantridine alkaloid C16H17NO4.HCl from plants of the Amaryllidaceae family.

  • Molecular Weight : 323.77 Da.

  • Melting Point : 210-212 °C.

  • Solubility in : slightly in 95% alcohol; not well in water; not in chloroform.

  • Purity min. : 98 %. (IR, mass spectrometry, NMR, non aqueous titration)

  • Physical Form : fine crystal powder.

  • Biological Activity : one of the most active inhibitors of protein synthesis catalyzed by eucaryotic ribosomes among this group of Amaryllidaceae alkaloids. prevents the transfer of the N-acetylleucyl residue from 3'-terminal fragments of AcLeu-tRNA onto puromycin [3-4]. binds to 60S ribosomal subunit isolated from wheat germ with Ka = 8.65x102 M-1. Changes their conformation in the PTC region. These events can result in blocking the oligonucleotide model donor adsorption [1]. the emetic effect on dogs starts at the dose of 0.5 mg/kg s.c.

  • Toxicity (LD50) : mice (orally): 180 mg/kg mice (s.c.): 108 mg/kg

  • Storage recommendations : Stable in dry state, store at +4°C, in dark place.Solution for use: 10-4 - 10-2 g/ml. For experiment in vivo: - as an emetic: 0.1 - 1.0 mg/kg s.c. - as a cholinesterase inhibitor: 5 - 10 mg/kg s.c.

  • CAS Reg. No. : 2188-68-3
