a non specific stimulant of immunogenesis; also used for erytrocytes hemolysis and automatic leucocyte numbering.
Triterpene saponine, mixture of 4 glycosides from plants of the Acanthophyllum genus.
Acanthophylloside A: minor component, chemical formula unspecified;
Acanthophylloside B: C86H136O48 - 40%;
Acanthophylloside C: C92H146O53 - 25%;
Acanthophylloside D: C86H136O49 - 25%.

  • Solubility in : dissolves in water with stable foam, practically not in alcohol and chloroform.

  • Purity min. : 80% (TLC)

  • Biological Activity : non-specific stimulant of immunogenicity. As an erythrocyte hemolytic, it can be used for leucocyte numbering (2% solution in 0.9% NaCl solution). It can also be used for obtaining barb antigens for diagnostic solution (0.54% Allochroside in 10% virus-containing aphtose suspension) and for the production of inactivated antibarb vaccines.

  • Toxicity (LD50) : mice (i.v.): 3.5 - 7.05 mg/kg.

  • Storage recommendations : Store at +4°C, in dark place.
