Description

an inhibitor of Na+/K+-ATPase; cardiotonic.

Cardenolide (cardiac glycoside) C35H52O14.H2O ‚ from plants of the Erysimum genus‚ Cruciferae.

 
Biological Activity

Erysimoside is a specific inhibitor of Na+/K+ ATPase‚ which acts selectively on the heart and presents a diastolic positive inotropic and tonotropic action. It is less toxic than Erysimin or Digitoxin.
IC50 (heart) = 0.19 µM (Ouabaine: 0.26 µM);
IC50 (kidney) = 0.30 µM (Ouabaine: 1.00 µM).
