- Biological Activity : A 0.125 % solution blocks the sensitive nerve endings in frog skin and extends the latency of the reflex response to a painful stimulus. The effect, developing gradually, reaches a maximum 55-60 minutes after application and lasts up to 2 hours.
Convolvine (1/1000 to 1/3000) inhibits cardiac activity, dilates the vessels from isolated ear of rabbit; at 3 mg/kg, lowers the arterial pressure in decerebrated cats.
- Toxicity (LD50) : mice (s.c.): 15-20 mg/kg.
- Storage recommendations : Store at +4°C, in dark place. Solution for use : 0.1 - 1 %.
