- Biological Activity : on experimental atherosclerosis in rabbit, Glyrophama dihydrate presents the following effects:
- reduces the area of the aorta damage by ~ 35 % or more;
- lowers (~ 2 times) the serumal global cholesterol, free cholesterol, cholesterol esters, and triglycerides level;
- enhances the HDL (a-cholesterol);
- prevents the aorta and vessels permeability due to hypocholesterolemia, acid acetic, formol, or external proteins;
- reduces the platelet aggregation, the hypercoagulation syndrom;
- reduces the hypophyseal/gonadic system dysfunction.
- Toxicity (LD50) : mice (orally): 255 mg/kg.
