C20-diterpenoid alkaloid C31H35NO7 ‚ from plants of the Ranunculaceae family.
 
Biological Activity

strong antiarrhythmic activity‚ and local anesthetic at least as potent as Cocaine; ED50 for arrhythmias caused by Aconitine: 0.3 mg/kg.
10-5 M block TTX-sensitive Na+ channels on rat isolated sensorial ganglion neurons (F. N. Djakhangirov and E. A. Valeev‚ unpublished).

Storage & Reconstitution Recommendations - for experiment on Tadjakonine local anesthetic activity: 0.25-0.5 % aqueous solution;
- for in vitro experiments: 10-9-10-8 M;
- to prepare a 1% aqueous solution of Tadjakonine: dissolve 20 mg of Tadjakonine in 0.3 ml 3 % HCl; dilute this solution in water up to obtaining 2 ml of total solution.
- Store at +4°C‚ in dark place.
