Purity 98 % (HPLC). Notexin purified according to Karlsson et al. (1) from the venom of snakes collected near Sydney‚ was shown by HPLC (2‚ 4) to be composed of several components and was consequently called "Notexin fraction". However‚ the two main proteins called Notechis Np (= Notexin as described in (3)) and Notechis Ns‚ a minor natural variant‚ are stucturally and functionally very similar (2). Optical Activity
