TURKESTERONE
Product ID L6230
Name TURKESTERONE
Molecular formula C27H44O8
Description

Turkesterone stimulates protein synthesis, calls hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic actions, and improves energy metabolism.

Polyoxysteroid (ecdysone), extracted or purified from Ajuga turkestanica (Regel) Brig. (Labiatae fam.)
Biological activity

On whole animal : In experiments on higher mammals compound stimulates protein synthesis, calls hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic actions, and improve energy change.
Animals tested : mice, rats, rabbits, dogs.

Mode of administration
: oral administration.
Apparent symptomatology : Like steranobols Turkesterone shows anabolic activity. Unlike steranobols Turkesterone is devoid of androgenic, thymolytic antigonadotropic and other hormonal effects. It shows hypoglycemic effect at experimental alloxan model of diabetes: decreases level of cholesterine and triglycerides in blood in rats with experimental atherosclerosis. In cases of experimental dystrophy of myocardium, anaemia, hepatic disorders, bone fractures and cut wounds Turkesterone improves organism metabolism and general state of animals.
At cellular level : In vitro experiments Turkesterone stimulates synthesis of proteins in liver cells of experimental animals.
Potency: Effective doses (p.o.): 5 - 10 mg/kg
Field of Use:>Practical: It activates synthesis of proteins at different pathological states of organism with concomitant insufficiency of metabolism.
Theoretical: Turkesterone may be used as a protein synthesis activator.
