APAMIN
Product ID L8407-1MG
Name APAMIN
Molecular formula C79H131N31O24S4
Description

It is a small, basic, polypeptidic toxin which blocks a class of Ca2+-activated K+ channels. It crosses the blood brain barrier and possesses a convulsant activity.

18-amino acid peptide with 2 disulfide bridges , from Apis mellifera bee venom.
Biological activity

Nanomolar concentrations block small conductance Ca2+-activated K+ channels. It induces motor hyperactivity and is a potent convulsant.
