MUSCARINIC TOXIN 7
Product ID L8119-100UG
Name MUSCARINIC TOXIN 7
Molecular formula C322H484N90O98S9
Description
A 65 amino-acids peptide with 4 disulfide bridges , synthetic, initially isolated from the venom of the Eastern Green mamba Dendroaspis angusticeps.
Biological activity

MTx7 binds irreversibly and specifically to an allosteric site of the muscarinic acetylcholine M1 receptor (CHRM1) at a subnanomolar affinity. MTx7 is the most selective M1-subtype antagonist as it is about 10,000 times more selective for M1-subtype than for other muscarinic receptors subtypes (CHRM2, CHRM3, CHRM4, CHRM5). MTx7 does not show interaction with adrenergic receptors, dopaminergic receptors, histaminic receptors and serotoninergic receptors.
