TOXIN AdTx1
Product ID L8120-100UG
Name TOXIN AdTx1
Molecular formula C310H481N87O100S8
Description
A 65 amino-acids peptide with 4 disulfide bridges , synthetic, initially isolated from the venom of the Eastern Green mamba Dendroaspis angusticeps.
Biological activity

The toxin AdTx1 is an orthosteric antagonist of the alpha-1A adrenergic receptor (ADRA1A) with an affinity of 0.35 nM and is 1000 times more potent on this subtype than on other adrenoceptor subtypes. It does not show interaction with other adrenergic receptors, dopaminergic receptors, histaminic receptors, muscarinic receptors, and serotoninergic receptors. AdTx1 acts as a potent relaxant of smooth muscle. Reduces prostatic muscle tone as efficiently as Tamsulosin.
