Description
A 29 amino-acids peptide with 3 disulfide bridges , synthetic, initially isolated from the venom of the Chilean rose tarantula Grammostola rosea, also known as Grammostola spatulata.
Biological activity

GrTx1 potently and selectively blocks tetrodotoxin-sensivite channels. IC50 values for Nav1.1, Nav1.2, Nav1.3, Nav1.4, Nav1.6 and Nav1.7 have respectively been described to be of 0.63 nM, 0.23 nM, 0.77 nM, 1.29 nM, 0.63 nM and 0.37 nM. GrTx1 does not inhibit sodium channels Nav1.5/SCN5A (IC50=22 µM) and potassium channels Kv11.2/KCNH6, Kv11.3/KCNH7, Kv1.1/KCNA1 and Kv1.4/KCNA4 (IC50>200 µM).
