CONOTOXIN-MI (alpha-)
Product ID L8505-500UG
Name CONOTOXIN-MI (alpha-)
Molecular formula C58H88N22O17S4
Description
A 14 amino-acids peptide with 2 disulfide bridges , synthetic, initially isolated from the venom of the Magical cone snail Conus magus.
Biological activity

α-conotoxin MI is a competitive antagonist of the muscle-type nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR). It blocks mammalian nAChR composed of alpha-1/delta subunits with high potency and alpha-1/gamma with a low potency, allowing to distinguish between the two agonist sites as it binds 10,000-fold more tightly to the α/δ than to the α/γ site.
