DERMASEPTINE B2
Product ID L8302-500UG
Name DERMASEPTINE B2
Molecular formula C156H276N56O46S6
Description
A 33 amino-acids peptide , natural, isolated from the skin of Phyllomedusa bicolor, the giant leaf frog.
Biological activity
Dermaseptins are typically 27-34 amino acid residues in length and were the first vertebrate peptides demonstrated as having a lethal effect on the filamentous fungi implicated in severe opportunistic infections accompanying immunodeficiency syndrome and immunosuppressive drug therapy. practical: CMi de 0.3 à 50 µMol.
Adenoregulin (Dermasptine B2) enhances binding of agonists to adenosine A1 receptors, adenosine A2a receptors, alpha-2 adrenergic receptors and 5-hydroxytryptamine 1A receptors. Enhances guanyl nucleotide exchange which may result in the conversion of receptors to a high affinity state complexed with guanyl nucleotide free G-protein. Affects human behavior eliciting profound malaise, followed by listlessness and then euphoria.
Adenoregulin shows a potent antimicrobial activity against bacteria, fungi and protozoa. Lacks hemolytic activity. Probably acts by disturbing membrane functions with its amphipathic structure.
