Lqh alpha IT (Native)
Product ID L8221-50UG
Name Lqh alpha IT (Native)
Molecular formula C329H490N94O94S8
Description
A 66 amino-acids polypeptide with 4 disulfide bridges , natural, purified from Leiurus quinquestriatus hebraeus venom.
Biological activity

Alpha toxins bind voltage-independently at site-3 of sodium channels (Nav) and inhibit the inactivation of the activated channels, thereby blocking neuronal transmission. Lqh αIT is an alpha-scorpion insect toxin, which prolongs the evoked action potential by an inhibition of sodium inactivation in insects and mammals. Highly toxic to insects, it also presents a toxicity to crustaceans and has a low, but measurable toxicity to mice.
