MAPACALCINE
Product ID L8507-20UG
Name MAPACALCINE
Molecular formula C407H621N115O131S10
Description
A 89 amino-acids peptide , natural, purified from Pione vastifica (the Boring sponge).
Biological activity

Mapacalcine blocks calcium currents via interaction with a yet unknown target protein. It haas no effect on L-type, T-type, N-type or P/Q-type voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCC). Has no effect on voltage-gated potassium or chloride channels. Blocks non-L-type VGCC calcium currents in mouse duodenal myocytes (IC50=0.2 µM). Blocks calcium influx induced by hypoxia/reoxygenation in rat hepatocytes.
