Description

Tropane alkaloid , from plants of the Convolvulus genus, Convolvulaceae.
Biological activity

Fillalbin induces clonico-tonic cramps in vivo. The death of mice occurs after 2 or 3 brief cramps.

In cats, 0.5-3 mg/kg increase arterial blood pressure to about 10-24 mm Hg during 15-60 min. 3 mg/kg increase breathing amplitude and frequency.

In rabbits, drops of a 1% solution cause an irritation of conjunctiva.
