IMPERATOXIN-INHIBITOR
Product ID L8203-10UG
Name IMPERATOXIN-INHIBITOR
Molecular formula IpTx1 large subunit: C491H735N137O161S13
IpTx1 small subunit: C120H177N31O43S
Description

It is an inhibitor of Ca2+-release channels from sarcoplasmic reticulum.

Heterodimer composed of a large subunit (104 AA) and a small subunit (27 AA) linked by disulfide bridge , from Pandinus imperator scorpion venom.
Biological activity

The toxin inhibits, with an apparent K in the nM range, ryanodine binding to the receptor both in cardiac and skeletal muscle, and it inhibits Ca2+ release from skeletal SR vesicles in the presence of micromolar extravesicular [Ca2+].
